AIKO Partners With CrossBoundary for Solar Deal

Key Figures & Findings: AIKO, a global leader in solar technology that specializes in high-efficiency solar products, has partnered with CrossBoundary Energy to supply 225MW of solar panels under a landmark agreement signed at Intersolar Europe 2025 and known for its All Back Contact (ABC) modules and stellar efficiency. The agreement will support the Kamoa Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Africa’s largest BC deployment to date, enhancing sustainable energy for a major copper operation.
Statistics & Insights: The Kamoa Project will use AIKO’s Stellar modules to reduce carbon emissions by 78,750 tonnes annually. This deployment will significantly lower reliance on diesel generators and reinforce the use of renewable energy in one of Africa’s leading mining hubs. AIKO’s ABC technology continues to demonstrate industry-leading efficiency, supporting both high-performance industrial applications and off-grid sustainability initiatives.
Future Implications: Upon implementation, the AIKO-CrossBoundary partnership could catalyze greater adoption of high-efficiency solar technologies across Africa’s mining and industrial sectors. With installations underway, the Kamoa Project is set to serve as a model for scalable, off-grid renewable integration by 2026, further solidifying Africa’s role in the global transition to carbon-free energy
