Bosch and Algeria Strengthen Energy Partnership

Key Figures & Findings: Algeria has taken a strategic step towards renewable energy by deepening its cooperation with German engineering giant Bosch. Algerian Secretary of State for Energy, Noureddine Yassaâ, met with Markus Thill, Bosch's President for Africa in a meeting and confirmed the company’s readiness to invest in Algeria’s green hydrogen and solar sectors. The discussions focused on manufacturing high-efficiency electrolyzers and fuel cells locally, integrating solar and wind energy into the national grid, and implementing carbon reduction technologies. Both parties also emphasized the importance of engineering expertise and workforce training in Algeria’s renewable energy development.

Future Implications: If successfully executed, this partnership could accelerate Algeria’s green hydrogen development. Also, reduces the integration of fuel cell technology, reduces dependence on imported fossil fuels, and creates a skilled renewable energy workforce.
