Empower, Saray Immo Expand Solar Energy

Key Figures & Findings: Empower New Energy has signed a 12-year solar power agreement with Saray Immo, a leading Moroccan manufacturing and logistics companyThe $3.5 million investment will finance, construct, and operate two rooftop solar plants with a combined capacity of 5.8 MWp. These installations, covering 49,000 m² of Saray Immo’s new automated manufacturing site, will become Morocco’s largest rooftop solar plant. The project aims to cut energy costs and improve operational efficiency while aligning with Morocco’s green transition agenda.

Statistics & Insights: The solar plants are expected to generate approximately 9,600 MWh of clean electricity annually, reducing around 6,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. This investment strengthens Morocco’s renewable energy sector, leveraging its abundant sunshine to enhance sustainability in industrial operations.

Future Implications: If scaled further, projects like this could significantly reduce Morocco’s industrial carbon footprint while promoting energy independence. As the country continues its transition to clean energy, such initiatives could pave the way for wider adoption of rooftop solar solutions in the manufacturing sector.
