Ghana’s NITA Installs 507 kW Solar Plant

Key Figures & Findings: JA Solar, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) technology, has deployed a 507 kW rooftop solar PV plant at Ghana’s National Information Technology Agency (NITA) Park in Accra. Developed in partnership with RIFE Energy Ghana and TINO Solution, the project delivers 696,000 kWh annually, enhancing Ghana’s clean energy transition. The African Solar Industry Association has recognized the system, which uses JA Solar’s high-efficiency PV modules, engineered for Ghana’s tropical climate and strong UV exposure.
Statistics & Insights: The solar plant will offset significant carbon emissions, supporting Ghana’s sustainability efforts. JA Solar’s modules were chosen for their low degradation rate, strong low-light performance, and resilience to extreme weather.
Future Implications: This project could accelerate solar adoption in Ghana’s public sector, potentially influencing other government agencies to transition to renewable energy.
