LONGi's 555 MW Solar Expansion in Africa

Key Figures & Findings: Chinese solar giant LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has inked a framework supply agreement totaling 555 megawatts (MW) for its Hi-MO X10 solar modules with various African distributors and EPC companies. This announcement was made during the Solar & Storage Live Africa exhibition in Johannesburg from March 25 to 27. LONGi, renowned for its high-efficiency photovoltaic products, showcased its latest range aimed at expanding its footprint in the African market. Sun Xianming, General Manager of LONGi’s African office, emphasized that this agreement reflects the confidence African partners have in the company's technology, citing the continent's growing demand for stable and locally deployable energy solutions.

Statistics & Insights: The Hi-MO X10 modules, based on HPBC 2.0 cell technology, offer a mass production power output of up to 670 watts—30 watts more than standard TOPCon modules of similar size—and can achieve efficiencies up to 24.8%. Additionally, the integrated bypass structure in these modules reduces power loss and prevents local overheating, with temperature drops exceeding 28% compared to conventional cells.
