Morocco’s Nareva Signs Wind Deal

Key Figures & Findings: Nareva Holding, the renewable energy arm of Moroccan investment giant Al Mada, has signed a commercial and industrial (C&I) power purchase agreement with French building materials company Saint-Gobain. The deal will see Nareva supply 35 GWh of wind energy annually to Saint-Gobain’s Moroccan operations. The agreement reflects both companies’ alignment on reducing industrial emissions and securing sustainable energy sources and is one of the first notable wind-based C&I agreements in Morocco, signaling growing corporate demand for green power.
Future Implications: If successful, this contract could encourage replication across Morocco’s industrial base as companies pursue ESG targets and hedge against grid insecurity. By 2026, similar wind-based C&I contracts could account for a significant share of Morocco’s non-grid renewable energy transactions, supporting national goals under the Moroccan Green Hydrogen and Climate Strategies.
