MozParks Goes Fully Solar in Mozambique

Key Figures & Findings: MozParks, a leading developer and operator of industrial parks, in partnership with Logos Industries, has fully transitioned its head office to solar power with a 15kW system, showcasing Mozambique’s potential as a renewable energy leader. Leveraging the country’s 300 sunny days per year, this milestone reflects MozParks’ commitment to balancing economic development with environmental responsibility. General Director Onorio Manuel underscored this achievement as a stepping stone for inspiring wider adoption of clean energy, reinforcing the vision of its parent company, ASEZA (African Sustainable Economic Zones Alliance), to drive green economic growth across Africa.
Statistics & Insights: MozParks has already attracted over 60 companies from 18 countries, creating income opportunities for more than 120,000 people and drawing $3 billion in investments at its flagship Beluluane Industrial Park. Plans are underway to extend solar power to additional industrial parks, starting with Mozal–Beluluane and Kenmare–Topuito.
Future Implications: By integrating solar energy into its industrial parks, MozParks could redefine sustainability standards for economic zones in Mozambique. If scaled successfully, this initiative could inspire widespread adoption of renewable energy across the region.
