Solis Deploys 52kWh System in Zimbabwe

Key Figures & Findings: Solis, a global manufacturer of hybrid inverters and energy storage solutions, has commissioned a 52 kWh commercial energy storage system in Zimbabwe using its S6-EH3P(29.9–50)K-H hybrid inverter. Developed in partnership with CalEnergy and project manager Michael Weier, the installation is designed to help local businesses reduce energy costs and boost operational efficiency in a country grappling with power instability. Solis inverters are known for integrating grid-tied and off-grid capabilities, making them particularly suited for Sub-Saharan markets with intermittent electricity supply.

Insights: The system supports <10 ms transition time between grid and off-grid modes and allows battery customization for backup assurance. It is configured for wide-range generator compatibility and lower backup costs, enhancing resilience for commercial users.

Future Implications: If scaled, this type of hybrid storage deployment could support Zimbabwe’s private sector by improving business continuity and enabling further adoption of decentralized solar energy systems by 2026. It may also ease reliance on diesel generators in critical infrastructure.
